Rick and his wife Tamara are devoted parents of three daughters. Rick is Vice President of Operations at Next Wave Logistics in Naperville, Illinois. He is a true advocate for children and young people. Rick is a founding Board Member of The R.Ed.I. Arts and Education Foundation. In addition to R.Ed.I. Rick has worked in many areas to assist young people and the challenges they face. Rick currently serves as an advisor to the Young Associates Board of Children’s Memorial Hospital. The Young Associates Board (YAB) is a legacy organization of the Gus Foundation, where Rick served on the board of directors for many years. The Gus Foundation, and the YAB specifically provide hope for children with brain tumors and works closely with organizers to encourage junior high and high school students to get involved in a variety of fund raising events; including an annual Oncology picnic, The Annual “Run for Gus” and many other similar events. Rick has been instrumental in fund-raising and raising awareness to the dangers of pediatric brain tumors. Rick is also the founder and senior adviser to the TAB (Teen Associates Board) which works in unison with the Young Associates Board. TAB consists of a group of highly motivated high school students and involves them with non-profit initiatives, including fund-raising, community service, and other related activities. Through his daughters current and past dance performance companies, Rick has organized benefit shows for Children’s Memorial Hospital, The Gus Foundation, St Francis of Assisi (in NYC, the home of Father Mychal Judge) and many other local food shelters, retirement homes, senior assisted living centers, etc., As President of the Dan Sanders Memorial Committee (1998-2005) Rick was instrumental in organizing and raising more than $100,000 to fight the effects of pediatric brain tumors.
