“STAND UP! Change Teen Statistics" A powerful and poignant cutting edge musical that
hits  the top current teen issues of our day. With powerful messages and  sobering
statistics. 


This 55 minute musical theatre production available to your school, youth group, conference, theater  or community organization.  The show is designed for those interested in addressing the current national issues teens face in today's society. The themes of the show include original sketches and scenes based on true stories an dinclude:

    Bullying
    Self mutilation
    Prejudice
    Hate Crimes
    Drugs & Alcohol Abuse
    Internet abuse -"Sexting" and cyber-bullying
    Depression / Teen Suicide
    Body Image - Unhealthy weight control

Our studies have shown: Teens have an emotional connection to the shows' powerful and  poignant message which can become a catalyst for change. The show is designed to help kids realize they are not "alone" and others are going through many of the issues they are experiencing.  We supply those who book the show with printed materials (study guides and conversation hand-outs that are designed: to promote discussion, encourage healthy resolutions to issues, find help and guidance where needed, and make healthier behavioral choices.

Enhance Your Prevention Program
The show is a springboard in which partnering organizations or schools themselves can collaborate and enhance their own health and lifestyle programs, or educational series and initiatives. The content of this show promotes teaching opportunities.

Study Guides and Audience Handouts
Teacher study guides and informational  handouts are included for those who book performances. These resources will  guide educators and partnering organizations to open discussions with the youth about the issues of most concern in your community. We hope the resources provided will guide students to find help and support groups within your communities.

We try to make the bookings of our show as easy as possible.  Please review the information below to get an idea of what we will provide you and what we might need from you to perform at your venue.

What we need from you...

  • Playing area stage that is a minimum of 20 feet deep and 30 feet across

  • Screen and video projector that can be driven by a laptop (optional)

  • 8 chairs

  • Simple lighting

  • 20 bottles of water

  • A xerox copy of the program for each audience member which will include customized contact information to agencies and information that can help your students in your community

  • Basic sound system




Preliminary research inspired by similar studies cited by University of Illinois Center for Prevention Research and Development and conducted by ARTGEM LLC, shows that the show is a viable means to inspire positive life change in teens and adults after seeing the show.

By surveying our audiences, our research shows the following:

100% of teen audience members agreed that the show can inspire life change
93% of all audience members said they know someone who should see the show
23% of all audience members said they decided to seek help
46% of all audience members said the show inspired them to change

R.Ed.I.’s show “STAND UP! Change Teen Statistcs” is based on the real life stories and experiences of over 60 teens. Once they shared their stories, professional writers and composers were commissioned to put it in professional musical theater format. The show is touring to high schools and conferences for teens and for those who work with teens. R.Ed.I.’s predecessor and whom R.Ed.I. has been modeled after booked an average of 95 show a year in Chicago and surrounding communities and reached over one million teens. The model show earned the following

• The U.S. Department of Education and Justice recognized the models as “one of the top youth groups in the nation working to improve the health of our country.”
• The Illinois Department of Justice in conjunction with the Department of Family Services recognized the model’s important contributions by funding the development of a second group.
• Stanford University targeted the model for research on their “Champions of Change” study.
• The Illinois Arts Council awarded the model the Outstanding Contribution Award
• The model was featured and profiled on several national television shows.
• The model performed an average of 95 shows a year on a local level.
