Teen Audience Handouts
If you find yourself or a friend in one of these statistics, there is help!
R: Recognize who or what is pulling you down. Being a teen can be difficult. There is so much going on in and around your life that, at times, it can get overwhelming. Resolving problems and living a better life and making your dreams become realities begins with understanding your problem or situation. Try to honestly assess what is going on with you.
E: Environment, change it! Get away from the people or things that are pulling you down.
Remove yourself from any situation that you are not comfortable or want to be a part of. Surround yourself with positive people with like minded goals and beliefs. There are people out there who will understand and are there to help YOU! There are ways you can help yourself!
Put yourself in places that inspire you and make you feel good about you and what you are doing.
D: Discuss
Find someone to trust who is also able to do something to help you. When you feel that life has you on the ropes and you need somewhere to turn and/or if you need help helping a friend reach out to an adult that you can trust. Gathering all the courage you have to ask for help. Ignore your feelings that tell you to “go it alone.” Try calling a help line, get one on one counseling over the phone when you need it most or maybe even better, talk to someone you trust.
